Celebrate the festival by adorning yourself with a mushroom topper! We will have craft materials and artists on hand to help you make a mushroom cap based on some samples, or you can invent your own!
Mushrooms in Water Color: An Ode to Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter is well-known for her children’s books like Peter Rabbit, but she was also a mycologist who loved to draw and paint the specimen that she found. In this hands-on workshop, participants will be encouraged to use their creativity to depict how they perceive the various aspects of fungal anatomy and taxonomy. All materials including mushroom specimen and art supplies will be provided; participants may bring their own specimen if they prefer.
Plus there will be interactive, musical art installations, a labyrinth, the Carrie Murray Nature Center open 10 -3 during festival hours, a mushroom ID table and more …
